• Description: The project aimed to empower landless and marginalized small-scale rural producers to influence public and private sector policies for sustainable investments in commercial agriculture.EPIC is a consortium approach initiated by Community Self Reliance Centre (CSRC) and Nepal Agriculture Cooperative Central Federation limited (NACCFL) with technical support of International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED) in Gadhawa Rural Municipality ward no 5, Sabaila Municipality ward no 13, and Gauradaha Municipality ward no 5, & 6  of Dang, Dhanusha and Jhapa districts. It supports the marginalized small-scale producers and landless communities of the area empowering themselves to influence public and private sector policies and actions in favour of locally beneficial and sustainable investments in commercial agriculture. 

This project focuses on four main result areas:

i) Grassroots empowerment

ii) Development of agricultural entrepreneurship models

iii) Policy advocacy

iv) Knowledge generation and dissemination

Through these initiatives, EPIC aims to empower small-scale producers, landless individuals, and marginalized communities, enabling them to influence public decision-making and negotiate with private sector actors for policies and practices that support their commercial agriculture needs.

 Outcomes:

• Empowered producers to analyze problems, identify solutions, and build alliances.
• Developed inclusive agricultural entrepreneurship models and policy proposals.
• Equipped producers and organizations to engage with private and public sectors.
• Generated evidence on socio-legal empowerment for producer agency.
