Keshav Prasad Badal (born October 1952, Kavre) is a Nepalese politician and cooperative movement leader. He earned a Bachelor’s in Economics from Tribhuvan University. Radicalized by feudal rule in the 1960s, Badal became a political activist in 1969. He held key positions in various communist groups, including the Proletarian Revolutionary Organisation and Nepal Workers Peasants Organisation. After merging with CPN(ML), he played a major role in the 1990 Jana Andolan. Elected to the House of Representatives in 1991 and 1994 from Kavre-2, he chaired the 1995-96 'Badal Commission' on land reform. He served as Minister of Industries in 1997 but lost his seat in 1999. A prominent cooperative movement leader, he later chaired the National Cooperative Federation and served as a CIAA commissioner.
