Under the “Sustainable Food Value Chain (SFVC)” project being implemented in Sindhupalchok, Kavrepalanchok, and Ramechhap districts with financial and technical support from TGH, MdM, and Farmers for Rural Development (FRDEV)—an initiative of the Nepal Agricultural  Cooperative Central Federation Ltd. (NACCFL)- an Agricultural Resource and Knowledge Center has been inaugurated at Gaurishankar Small Farmers Agricultural Cooperative Ltd., located in Kavrepalanchok.

The program was held in the distinguished presence of Mr. Khem Bahadur Pathak, Chairperson of NACCFL and FRDEV. The event was chaired by Mr. Subarna Shrestha, Chairperson of Gaurishankar Small Farmers Agricultural Cooperative Ltd., while the special guest was Mr. Mohan Prasad Lamichhane, Ward Chairperson of Dhulikhel Municipality Ward No. 12.

The event witnessed active participation from representatives of the SFVC project partners, members of the cooperative’s board of directors, audit committee, advisors, inter-group representatives, and other key stakeholders.
The chief guests appreciated the cooperative’s contributions in supporting small farmers and emphasized the importance of having a clear strategic vision focused on improving farmers’ livelihoods, promoting organic production, expanding market access, providing interest subsidies, skill development, technology adoption, training, and capital mobilization.

During the program, heartfelt condolences were offered for the untimely passing of cooperative shareholder Mr. Bhuvan B. k. A compensation cheque of NPR 300,000 (Three Hundred Thousand Rupees) from his term life insurance was handed over to his wife, Ms. Santoshi B.k.

On behalf of FRDEV and the project team, sincere thanks were extended to all the distinguished guests and participants for their presence and contribution to the successful implementation of the agricultural initiative. Based on the encouraging participation and commitment witnessed during the event, a positive impact in the agricultural sector is anticipated in the days ahead.
